It could be that it's not being kept up to date because they are trying to sell it in an auction. I would love to say this place was awesome but my experience was terrible and my family felt the same way.

The cabin was nice but the person who owns this cabin cannot be trusted. I sent her a check for the full amount that included a $200 deposit that would be returned after our stay, so she said. I cant even reach the lady anymore.
The other thing to mention here is that this place was filthy. the silk plants had layers of dust on them, the outdoor deck furniture was moldy, and the screen porch furniture was both dusty and moldy. Would have liked to have used that furniture. It is clear that the owner doesnt visit very often as she is from Connecticut and things her place is still like it was back in 1986. You can also tell by her responses on Trip Advisor she doesnt take the criticism very well.
Not only that, in the year 2016 who doesn't accept CC's. So it's first come first serve when you rent the place. if someone elses check gets there before yours does you are out of luck.
I have been going to The Cabin at Wintergreen since I was a little girl. I would have to say it's one of my most favorite places! As a kid I loved all of the activites the resort and the surrounding area offered...horseback riding, swimming in the lake, swimming at the pool, skiing, and the hiking trails. While I still love all of those things, what I love more is the warmth and character of the cabin itself...the ambient lighting, the stone fireplace, the cozy window seat, the hot tub on the back deck, the stereo system with speakers perfectly placed everywhere, the screened in porch...i could just go on and on about it's charming qualities!
WONDERFUL!!! The Cabin at Wintergreen is relaxing and beautiful. So many amenities; huge fire place, hot tub, gorgeous kitchen and bedrooms. We love the personal touches and Bonnie is so easy to work with and friendly. She makes sure the cabin is clean and ready for us when we arrive. Love the huge dining room table where everyone can site together and the screened in porch in the summertime when it is nice and cool. We have come up here many times over the years to celebrate with family and friends. I am already planning my next stay!
Our experience was awesome. I took my family to The Cabin at Wintergreen for their Christmas present. From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. The rental property is just stunning with a rustic appeal. Relaxed, took naps, drank and just had the best time...Hot tubbing in the cool air was a great memory with the family. Loved the big fireplace and during the playoffs the TV was key for the guys! We went skiing for the first time and it was excellent. Took lessons from Jacob explaining the safety rules and how to enjoy skiing. We will be back to enjoy the cabin in the spring for some brisk hiking and maybe golf!
The Cabin. The only time we left was for dinner at one of the restaurants at the resort. But the kitchen at the cabin has every amenity you could need so it really wasn't necessary (i just wanted a break from cooking).
From the moment you pull into the driveway, you can feel how special this place is! I hope you enjoy your time there as much as i have through the years.
We enjoyed a family reunion over Christmas at the cabin. The experience exceeded every expectation. A wonderful location, lovingly furnished rooms and a kitchen full of every convenience. Especially enjoyed the spectacular stop fireplace and cozy furnishings. We'll be back as soon as we can.
